First Lego League-2023
Students of Year 3 and 4 participated in the First Lego League Competition held on 17th February 2023 and won the Core Values Award. The Students got the opportunity to understand the strength of working together as a team, explore new skills and ideas and to use their creativity and persistence to solve the problem.
E-Safety
Students learnt about digital safety i.e trying to be safe on the internet and is the act of maximizing a user's awareness of personal safety and security risks to private information and property associated with using the internet, and the self-protection from computer crime.
Students were encouraged to use an online tool Storyboardthat and created comic strips on “Cyber bullying”. They also created posters about digital safety.

STEAM IN LESSONS
Activity: Create a flood solution using Tinkercad (3D - Modeling Science, Design and Engineering)
Researched on flood causes, problems and introducing a solution to it by planning a 2D model followed by 3D design. They analyzed weather conditions, geographical area and create a solution based on the
They will come up with unique business ideas to implement in the most effective flood regions based on the investigation.

Hour Of Code
The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science. Students used multiple events, conditionals, and a function to create their own version of the mobile game. Students work through the lesson at their own pace. Students celebrated their success by receiving certificates. In the lesson, students will combine multiple events to create a game. The characteristics of the game are defined by program variables that can be changed to create new gameplay experiences. It also introduces the idea of global variables, which are required in order to update variables like the score inside an event. Students will used string concatenation to construct output messages that include variables.
Codeavour AI Competition 2022-2023
An international-level coding competition hosted by STEMpedia annually to encourage children to bring out their inner programmer & make innovative projects with PictoBlox – the best platform to learn coding and AI. Madiha Javed and Sarah Javed participated in International Codeavour AI Competition and their project “Warrior” won (consolation prize) in National level that was held in Amity School, Dubai.
How to Raise a Lifelong Learner
Using media to inspire learning
- Reading to your kids not only inspires learning and lays a foundation for literacy, but if you comment and ask questions as you read, it shows kids that reading can be an active process.
- And don't discount kids' favorite online pastimes, such as watching video clips on YouTube or social media as potential learning opportunities. Check out videos that examine unique concepts, such as the ones on Khan Academy, Vsauce, and SciShow. Ask kids what subjects they're interested in, what their friends are sharing, and what's trending to get ideas.
- Find media you can use together. Seeing you learn something -- for example while playing family games or trivia apps -- demonstrates the process. Also consider watching movies and TV shows that help foster curiosity.
- Show kids how to use references and research apps to gain a deeper understanding of a topic.
- Discover different angles or viewpoints -- not to condone or justify things that oppose your values -- but to help kids learn to think critically about what they see and hear. Read or watch current events together and fact-check the stories to discover additional information to inform your opinions.
- Watch documentaries on various subjects such as history, animals, and space. Sharing new discoveries increases knowledge -- as well as bonding.
- Check out our lists of TV shows and movies that emphasize specific character traits. Use the conversation starters in the "Talk to your kids About..." section of the reviews to reinforce messages.
- Role model responsible online behavior so kids are respectful to others when they start interacting online. Digital citizenship skills as just as important as academic skills -- not only for drama-free social lives, but also for kids' potential careers. Learn more social media basics to set your kids up for positive online experiences.
- Let's say your teen is on Instagram marveling at Rihanna's new makeup line. Ask what sets it apart, how it's being marketed, and why Rihanna might be taking time to do it in the first place. Maybe you can tap into your teen's interests and turn them into a discussion about branding and being an entrepreneur.
- Have a nightly challenge where everyone has to share one fascinating fact they learned that day at dinner. Twitter is a gold mine of facts. Try following: #AP_Oddities, Bill Nye the Science Guy, or #wokeletter.
STEAM in lessons
Year 7 students have designed a play space involves mathematical thinking about measurement and scaling, as well as spatial reasoning. Students also applied an engineering mindset in refining their designs to adhere to safety standards.
STEAM hub@WIN
STEM Hub@WIN was planned well by our STEM Student leaders. The students were fully engaged in the afterschool activities. Students learn best by doing. The students were fully engaged during the sessions of STEM Hub @WIN which focuses on giving students the hands-on experience they need to build their skills and discover their passions through project-based learning. Students learnt to create their own projects across a range of software. At STEMHub@Win students were interested to learn about the intersection of STEM and the environment, while building crucial skills such as innovation, creativity, technology competencies, and more!
2021-2022
TECHNOBIZAD INTERSCHOOL COMPETITION 2021-22
Technobizad Interschool Competition 2020-21 has been a huge success and even bigger and better. This year the theme for the competition was “Transforming our world through Coding”. We had about 340 participants in all and 6 participating schools. The excitement and the quality of projects that were submitted was beyond words. Students across different age groups starting from year 2 to year 13 showcased such brilliant projects. The competition included App Making and Gamification to accomplish the outcome.
SCOPE 2021
In synchronization with the Environment Day (5th June) theme ‘Ecosystem – Restoration’ . The overarching theme for Environment Day 2021 focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems, redefining mankind’s deep connection with nature. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to restore our earth and ecosystem. We all need to keep our planet and ecosystem healthy to support our livelihoods, health and happiness.
WIN CODE-COLLABORATE-SHARE COMPETITION
In continuation of our initiatives for STEAM based and Project based learning, our students are given opportunities to participate in WIN Code-Collaborate-Share Competition. Project-based learning is an instructional approach which gives students the opportunity to hands on skills through highly engaging projects set around different challenges and problems related to real life scenarios. It gives students opportunities to keep focused on the given theme and further research on the same. Students use 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
Workshop on how to train an AI Bot
A workshop was conducted to train an AI Bot to recognise human expressions such as compliments. Students were exposed to concepts of Artificial Intelligence and guide students to build a socially impactful AI project
